Is it just me or is it really really quiet just now......All the vans near me various trades, all there all day.....Not good!

same here, sitting bored, waiting for the phone to ring. how sad's that?

I have been through You tube's entire back catalogue!........Just been called out to job, constant tripping, eventually found cu buried under the stairs, 3 seperate boards, all rewireable, main tails damaged, burning on top of fuses....A total mess all in all, Said I.. "I'll get the tester from the van" Customer " Will there be a charge".................Said I..."Errrrr Yeah"!.........Customer "Oh.....Can we leave it then" You have to laugh.....They only have power to half the house, sockets hanging off, exposed copper everywhere, no rcd protection to speak of to name but a few........And they are a childminders!........I give up!

you should have said, when they said leave it. " i'll have to report this to social sevices as IMO children are at risk" that's a good wallet opener.

Yes would be nice to have....However call me old fashioned if you will, that may not have helped my cause when the works need to be done in the future........Left it safe at least, removed rewireables, isolated not so good circuits, sure they'll get fed up with half a house with power before long!....Happy days!

hope you took a pic of how you left it. what if they slap some fuses in?

Very quiet where I live, lucky still have old contacts in Dorset so build up non urgent work & travel there once a month, regards piccollo

Dead as a dodo after a better start to the year.......today changed a pullswitch and 12 36w tubes in an office:(

Yeah pics taken, Blank company letter head with brief report signed on the spot....Me covers it every time!

'Will there be a charge?' Jesus wept! At that point I would have said 'what, you mean on top of the £150 call out charge you already owe me? Yes, there will'. Cheeky buggers! And child minders as well! What horrible people.

I got a lucky break. Doing some PIR's for a large concern on private rented houses. The reports landed on someones desk today, and there arses have dropped out. Still got 10 to PIR, but they have today authorised the £12000 needed to bring the ones up to scratch that we have already tested, and they want us to start straight away:cool:

Cheers..Howard
