Can anyone recommend any decent places to buy the IEC 18th Edition Regs book online?
There's the usual places like Waterstones, but its pretty pricey.
Has anyone found any 'gems' out there to purchase the book from for a reasonable price?
I find the IET membership page offers a bit too much detail and I'm not really sure what they offer or how much it would cost?
Is anyone here a member?
Do you feel its worthwhile, what do you get?
How much does it cost?
Cheers guys :)
I was wondering what is the difference "in content" between the IET Electricians Guide to the Regs. and a Student's Guide?
I'd look it up myself but can not get a physical copy and I am not keen on forking out 20 GBP
Hi gals n guys
I'm looking for some old copies of regs, namely 15th and early 16th. Others will be considered. If anyone has any and wouldn't mind parting with them would be appreciated. Already have 16th Am2, 17th & Am 1/2/3, 18th.
Has anyone signed up for IET membership via the ECS fast track route?

Has anyone used the IET wiring regs 18th Edition app for android? Just wondering how useful it is and how legit it is, the mock questions in it are in a totally different written format from the other virtual mock exams I have done online recently.
I was wondering if anybody knows how much a copy of the IET Wiring Regulations Amendment 3 or 18th edition should cost?
It looks like the RRP for 18th edition, paperback, is £95! Found a copy delivered for £81 on Amazon.
Is this really the case for an essential publication? Or should...
Saw this the other day and thought I'd post here as it may be of use to some of the people here.
Just need to pop your name in and you can view the webinar, or you can download it if you prefer.
So the 18th edition is almost upon us, an event which is fast becoming a regular thing from the IET, either as a new edition or a new series of amendments.
I'm a member of the IET (or the IEE as it was), something that I used to be proud of but now find an embarrassment especially within the...
As I have mentioned before I have been a Free Subscriber to the IET `Wiring Matters` Magazine for many years after being given a Free subscription by the then IEE after posing a question to them.
As you will know the Magazine is now an online version and I get regular Emails...
I noticed the new iet model forms no longer have live to neutral IR testing column. They do have L-L IR column, but im assuming thats for 3 phase, wondered what you guys think. all input appreciated
I've done a full set of the IET model forms, as editable PDFs, now available in the Resources section:

I was wondering around at the ELEX show at the Richo Stadium yesterday, and stopped the NICEIC and IET stands.
I counted the number of publications currently on sale 27 books, and I thought, would they all need to be replaced when the 18th comes into force, surprise surprise, no one would give...
I am a subscriber [free] to `Wiring Matters` the IET online Electrical Industry magazine and today I received the reminder email for the September edition which has an article titled `Electrical Qualifications` - I have sometimes seen Members asking questions on the Forum about the...
As I might have mentioned on the Forum previously I am subscribed to the IET for the `Wiring Matters` magazine which I think is now only online.
I also receive regular Emails from the IET about Electrical Regulations and all manner of things `Electrical`.
Today I received an Email...
Don't know if I'm being over critical, with the onset of the 17th IET Regulations the term Competent Person (CP), has been dropped in favour of Skilled Person (SP), yet we still call the schemes NICEIC etc CP Schemes. Should it not be SP Schemes?
This months PE, page 38 is a full page advert for a new guide they have produced – “Guide to Consumer Units”
So they write RUBBISH regs, that most of us think are knee jerk, and them they expect us to pay out more money on a new Guide they have written. They should be giving them to people who...

Hi, I'm looking for advice as to whether this is feasible. The downstairs toilet in my new build house is quite large due to it needing to comply with accessibility regulations (a space is left for an accessible shower to be installed should it be required). It currently only has a toilet and a...
I was super busy in December right through to February. Almost unable to keep up. Then March has been almost dead! A few little jobs but the enquiries have died right down..
How is everyone else finding things at the moment?
Last week I installed what was supposed to be a reasonably quiet 6inch wall fan in a kitchen.
Turns out it wasn't as quiet as I anticipated.
Anybody know of a quiet one? Must be a 6inch wall mounted one
All help is appreciated
Given a chessboard (8 x 8 square grid) and a piece which is only allowed to move one square upwards or rightwards (it cannot move diagonally, downwards or left).
The piece starts in the bottom left corner of the board and you have to move it to the top right corner. There are clearly lots of...

My Missus has decided that as SHE'S put a few pounds on since last year, that WE need to go on a diet!!
I've got to cut out spuds and bread and eat more fruit and veg.
I've heard about the 5 a day that we need to stay healthy etc etc and to be honest I don't think its such a bad thing.

Could anyone recommend a very quiet bathroom extractor fan that fits in a space about 6 inches square in the ceiling. My neighbours' bathroom fan (below me) is buzzing really loudly in my bedroom. I have offered to pay to replace it with a quiet one. Would this one be OK? It seems very cheap...
