Hi Can anyone confirm what the regs say about socket distances from sink and hob? from memory I have a metre away from centre i my head is this correct?

Theres no reg just guidance for distance from sink and as long as it not over a cooker i dont think there is any set distance from a cooker

As above electricians guide to the regs say 300mm and if its a new build guaranteed by NHBC they also follow this rule.

Thanks 300mm still seems close don't it? but I am indecisive about 500mm so that's fine now cheers

You may also wish to consider

IP ratings, or think about the environment and use a suitably rated socket/switch dependent on how wet it might get. Or put another way, make sure the standard socket/switch is far enough away that it's IP rating is correct. Thanks.
