Hi there,
I wanted to rack your brains on something.

If something is installed in a house but terminates in a 13amp plug would it need to be installed by a qualified electrician or just a capable person?

If for example there were a couple of units joined by a junction box and terminates at a domestic plug, how do the regulations work on this?

Thanks in advance.

If it needs to be plugged in then it's a portable peice of equipment & as such you could get the local village idiot to do it if you so wished.
But prudence would tell you get somebody who knows what they are doing to do the job properly.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. So even if it is installed by a company, but just terminates in a plug, its deemed as portable so does not need to be signed of or anything?

Regards
