HI

I have a warehouse that wants to replace all the low bay lights in the area to more energy efficient ones maybe LED,

has anyone used anything like this that works well? Produces a decent level of light?

The lights are just over 8M high

I would use fluorescent ansell optilux 6x55w lowbays

Thanks i can't find that exact model online though, surely if the existing lights are 250W halide these are over 300W so will cost more to run?

Yes but no, i took down eight metal halides and put up 3 fluorescents.

Did you have someone design that first from a floor plan? To ensure they're would be enough light at lower level?

If your warehouse is unheated I would go with LEDS over fluorescents. They perform much better at lower temperatures.

No we bought one on sale or return (£110) stuck it up, admired it summonsed the boss and he gave it his blessing. Our local wholesaler would sometimes send other sparks in to visit us to get a look, you never know ask yours

Somar lighting, they are day light harvesting t5 tubes the fitting has a programmable sensor, they have a mechanism to change the spread of light for isles or open areas etc. mark group owns somar and installs the lights as well but will sell the lights separate and you can just pay for a day of programming etc. they will also do all the calcs as well to work out the pay back period etc typically 2-3 years the lights and installation has paid itself back.

Lighting schemes are free. The lighting company rep will come do an assessment and then print out the locations and all the technical specs of the options available.

Just ask you local wholesaler.
