Hi chaps,

Been thinking of upgrading one of my DBs (both 15th Ed), partly for safety and to make the place more attractive to a buyer, partly to use as an assessment piece for ELECSA.

Currently got an economy 7 supply and 2 DBs, one 4-way for the immersion and 3 storage heaters, the other 6-way for the general circuits.

Would it be feasible (and compliant) to replace these with a single board, with 2 main switches and 2 sets of tails? I was wondering about having it laid out as if it was a 3-phase board, but with separate neutrals...

I know it's physically possible, but obviously want to make sure it's 100% compliant, particularly as it's probably going to be inspected!

You can get dual tariff consumer units that would allow you to do what you want without problems (but they can be a bit expensive) or you could modify a high integrity board to provide the same effect, but you have to be careful you do not affect any of the design characteristics of the board, which can be a minefield (or something you ignore!!)
