Right chaps,

Due to a few unavoidable issues, we have lost the original thread and pics etc.

Sorry about that!!!

So, if you want to re-upload your pics then great, if not, give us something new!

Cheers!!

no particular reason... mainly because i don't like it and apart from protecting the cable from said idiots trowel it offers zero protection at all... (plastic capping)

some times depending on chase depth you get a better finish with out the capping having to be covered over as well... them extra few mm can be the difference!!

that kitchen job was a right pain as it initially started as a move stuff about job but then it ended up been full rewire as i found that many JB's in walls i just went sod it!!

To sedgy34

Its mainly Glasgow but the firm has won solar contracts in York Lincoln and Colchester. Me and my mate are heading down to Penrith in a few weeks to finish a job to connect micro inverters into the system all on a flat roof which is a bounus

Fair enough, I just consider it good practice to leave about 20% of the D.B empty for future additions. Don't think there's a reg on it though.

Ususally the case for us aswell, but, as DurhamSparky said, everything is catered for and there shouldn't be anything that the new owner whoever it is should need to add. The garage has sockets and lights in, there is a socket on outside walls enabling a spur to an outside socket to be added, outside lights are fitted by the doors, The intruder alarm is wired and fitted, oven and hob all wired, 10mm for the electric shower. Also the mains is in the middle of the house so it would be tricky to add anything without ruining the house with trunking.

We usually use the Wylex 15Way High Integrity Boards that allow us to put RCBO's in aswell, but our wholesaler's didn't have any in stock.

Ah right, fair enough then. Throughout my apprenticeship the majority of rewires/kitchen installs i did was for the council and they specified metal Capping so i have used it throughout my career. Its just a habit using it now.

I agree with Durham, capping can be a right pain in the rear and unless it's a muppet of a plasterer not really req'd....do IR test when first fix is finished and take pics of result before plasterer is let loose!

Spay booth project.

Ever fancied running an Italian restaurant? I’ve seen spaghetti look neater.

All that bus bar chamber is short of is a dollop of bolognaise sauce!
