Cord snapped inside, replaced with a Wickes 45A Pull Cord Shower Control.
Guy who fitted was experienced electric DIY're and shower worked OK, unfortunately the 'red' on light was staying on and not going out.
He advised try swapping over wires. Did this, wiring correct as diagram, now have a different issue.
The 'on/off' text switch shows 'off', pull cord. Text switch shows red, but no light illuminated, no shower.
Pull cord again and 'off' text re-appears.
Pull cord a third tine and get red text switch and red light, shower works.
Have attempted to contact Wickes and supplier without receiving any reply.
Any idea what is occurring and how to fix?

I would strongly recommend you use an electrician and not an experienced DIYer electrician. Poorly fitted shower switches can result in hazardous situations so it will be a few Pounds spent well.

These switches commonly use a four sided cam to operate the switch, advancing 90 degrees every time the cord is pulled. One of the two 'on' lobes was faulty.
It's an isolator, not a switch, and one with a light shouldn't be fitted, although the on and off flag is compulsory.
Switch it on and leave it on. There's no reason to turn it off between showers.
