UK Singles in trunking

In an industrial building with galvanised trunking everywhere and loads of circuits with singles, has anyone got any good tips on identifying the singles for a circuit easily if I needed to break into a ring for example?

Just have to disconnect legs from socket and pull in new leg.

The whole point of trunking and conduit is that it’s rewirable.
There should be no need for joints inside trunking.

we used to tape each circuit cables together every 4ft. - 6ft.

Yes, that’s what I do to make it easier for the next man.
Pain in the butt when you have large size trunking with shed loads of singles in there

I would rarely cut into a single cable within the trunking system unless it were an emergency fix

As already mentioned You should find the nearest point and pull in a new cable length

Quite a few times I come across trunking absolutely bursting with cables which you can barely get the lid on which in this case you might want to run in some new containment if the budget allows

Stick a load on compare L +N

Go to the nearest socket where you want to break in follow the singles into the trunking, best to make you connections in socket not in the trunking, you could clamp both LN under load an compare as mentioned but dont think its necessary I would not.
