Just hopefully about to start work on a small bungalow. The kitchen is being extended and the same with the living room. The architect has stated about the alarms being connected and mains powered as they normally do but should i fit them as all i'm doing is some work on other rooms?

Its building regs that the property has to have mains smoke alarms, So even if u r just putting a few sockets in a bedroom u need to install alarms and make sure ur bonding and D/B is up to date.

really...??

If you add sockets in a bedroom you have to install smokes? I've never heard of that.
