evening,
im in the middle of a first fix on a barn conversion, complete rewire, first of all i was just asked for power lighting etc and a few data points all that im fine with.
The clients asked for a sonos system to be installed as well now, however i havent done one before. so any info would be a bonus. Im planning on running a coax and a cat5e to every room in the house. And run them all back to one central point in a hallway cupbord. Im wondering if my speaker wires should all be run back to here also? Like i say bit of a newbie when it comes to audio so any advice would help cheers

@Midwest there was a time when more than 1 socket in a room was seen as pointless. Times move on, home automation is becoming a big thing now.

And to op, yes, run all your data and speaker cables to a central point (often called Node 0), just make sure you fit the right gauge speaker wire.

Don't get me wrong, bit of a gadget man and I do like innovation, just don't see the need to turn on a light, or a socket using my mobile phone, whether I'm down the pub or sat on my arse on the sofa.
lol I get what you mean...turn your lights on from the pub and then stand there sipping your pint thinking I bet my lights look the bollox :D It's where the money is at though in my opinion.

I think that's where people get home automation wrong. The point is automation, if you have to actually press something then either a) you're after a very specific outcome eg override light scene so you can find your keys, or b) something has gone wrong in the design process. If designed well you shouldn't have to interact with the house much at all, it should be automated!
