If there is nobody working above you, why do you need a hard hat? Is a big bird going to fly into you
I put it to you, bloke, if you had been beasted for month after month over BS double standards about glasses and podiums, then nearly been beheaded over substandard scaffolding practices and organisational oversights by main contractors, then keeping people who you've had never seen or spoken to, and who had already had one major incident on the same project, on 'your' side, slips quite quickly down the list of priorities.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
I think it was what is known as a rhetorical question mate. I doubt he was having a go at you.You need bigger glasses numptee. That's what I just said isn't it? Not wearing a hard hat = not important. Not wearing harness = important, but which do you think gets picked up on where I work?
Read, then jog, on.

BTW all the 'Union' members where I work are taking the pi$$ on the sick for 6 months because their feelings are hurt at tax-payer's expense may I add.
Well i have 2 incidences of absence since ive started my union job seven years ago, one was a funeral (2 days)the other was when i was in hosptal (week). So whats your point
I guess you work for a local authority then voltz ?
Employee No.1 - into No.8 week of absence, stated reason = bad knees, real reason = fed up because requested holiday from next year's allowance due to bereavement denied.
Employee No.2 - into No.10 week of absence, stated reason = bad back, real reason = fed up because put on slightly lower rate of pay when Single Status pay enforced rather than the bonus, or priced based system that used to prevail.
Employee No.3 - into 8th month of absence, stated reason = stress related skin condition, real reason = can't get on with colleagues and earns better money driving lorries.
Employee No.4 - into 6 month of absence, stated reason = funny turns, real reason = won't let him retire or go on light tasks when others have.
Employee No.5 - back now after 2 months off with 'ganglions' now sits in van being driven around by an electrician and watching...
The waste goes on, and we're effing paying for it.
So what do you have to say to that Mr letfy goggle eyes? Or should I sponsor them through Oxfam, via a Union?
woah calm down , i was just asking politely.
and no i didnt bother trawling through several pages of waffle while your spitting your dummy out.
dick.
I think you should worry about yourself, relax, if you get any more excited you'll be the sixth man out on the sick.
ok, moving on, what do you all think of voltage optimisers

Suggest the personal insults stop now, or offending members will gain infractions
I hope you realise that MOST of my insults were actually aimed at the spazzes that I 'work' with, not members on here. I think it's important to make the distinction.
why are some of these people still up, its nearly midnight in blighty and im sire im not the only one up before 6.I think its time to stop worrying about it and continue the debate about voltage optimisers... personally im away to bed (hard days work tomorrow)
Good luck to all of you

....... having my first coffee fix of the day....
i used to be like that with one an hourThere you go, that will keep you in the wide awake club if you drink enough.
I found that by reducing my intake coffee levels to "normal" from almost 1 per hr all day/night from the moment I got up I could eventually get a full 5hrs sleep per night!!
... though that said Ive been awake since 4 so maybe it is an old age thing!!
Definitely insomnia.
Nope it's worse than insomnia, it's glyndebourne opera on tour!
I was referring to me, work out what time I wrote that. I think I got to bed at 08:00.
So exactly what HSE regulation was ignored? Please be be specific, direct, and succinct.
ive been on a nation grid site and there not that strict.Any one who has worked on a National Grid site, knows it is a strict site
Lol you guy's....I could tell you about many more strict sites and the mad stuff they come up with. Even as an apprentice I was on a secure mental hospital in Scotland where we all had to sign a disclaimer to say if we left anything behind that was then used by the patients to cause harm or injury to themselves or others then we would be liable. Tool box's emptied of everything except the essentials for each days work....Inventory checked on the way in and checked on the way out....some prat still managed to "loose" a hacksaw blade...still it all ended ok as it was found in a patients room lol.
All the stuff mentioned in the op's rundown of site measures I have seen on numerous sites. As stated you/we are trying to bypass dawinism and this is what we are left with. I actually agree that lots of groups make far too much cash out of it all. Also as stated it is because directors can find themselves in the dock facing time add to that the financial implications for big firms on big jobs if one of their idiots/workers gets themselves killed.....This is why H&S is so huge and overbearing.
