Im starting fresh electrical work on a new build. The mains is coming on the ground floor, from there I need to wire 3 more CU. What's the best way to go about it? So altogether there'll be a CU on each floor. Ground floor, first, second and third. 4 CU's altogether. What do you guys reckon?

I've done a 5-bed with 3-phase and approx. 40 circuits.

Admittedly somewhat high-spec. E.g. kitchen had circuits for 3 ovens & hob, as well as sockets & lights. And 2 backup immersion tanks in case of boiler failure. Plus various outside lighting & gate circuits.

Again, sockets in 2.5mm, multiple circuits per floor to keep the cable lengths down.

In this case, everything in a basement plant room, rather than boards scattered about the building. Doesn't make much difference to cable lengths.

Ha, talk about houses, i am working on one atm, its rather large and difficult to cable. Plant room has TP DB which is main DB, garage has submain TP DB, 1st floor has submain TP DB, with two further sub mains with SP DB's which feed local ccts on ground floor and 1st floor.
Thats 3X TP DB and 2X SP DB , have not counted ccts yet but 100M of 2.5T&E disappears in one bedroom alone, lol. Local ccts are to ensure VD and ELI will be met.

This is turning into a Facebook page now loads of random pictures and s***t to scroll through. Just the same a posting American video's that have no relevance to the thread/posts or electrical installation in this country. Can we try to keep on the post ( well most of the time anyway)?

The hardest thing is trying to find an accessible cupboard to house them in.

Sometimes the odd pic is funny, sometimes it's just makes no sense and is a little strange, but if I'm honest it doesn't really aggravate me.

I do get a bit aggravated by some of the posts I see on this forum, advise and discussion is fine (different opinions and prospective are good) but asking what size cable to use makes a mockery of mine and everyone elses here training.
I enjoy the forums but I get a little annoyed when I feel people are taking advantage, It's basic stuff and if you don't know it you shouldn't be taking on these jobs.
