Ignore me, just testing. Wrote a big long intro message only for the site to reject it because of too many URL's or something spurious, then it wiped my message from the browser buffer so I couldn't edit it. Can't be arsed to go through all that again, so this is all you get while I test it even accepts anything I try to submit... (I'll copy it this time before I hit send!)

We have software that will detect over use of URL's especially in a first post, to help prevent the huge amount of spamming we get.

Im sure you understand.

Welcome aboard BTW.

:)

Sorry to hear that, I know how annoying it is to lose a post especially when you've spent ages thinking about it and if you're like me you've also spent ages typing it out with one finger. You possibly triggered the spam filter with a low post count and URL's in the post. To play it safe maybe remove the 'www' from any links you post so the board doesn't try to parse them.

Beaten to the post.

Yes, I could understand that, if I had actually *put* a URL anywhere in my message! I think it was complaining that my first ever post was a three paragraphs long tirade about the state of the economy and industry in general... ;-) Or possibly a benign technical word that it thought was a swear word because it's not in a standard dictionary?

There is a limit to the length of post but it's very long and I doubt that was the problem. Even if one of the word filters was triggered it would still post and replace the word with asterisks. I'm guessing your login might have timed out due to inactivity, you can try ticking the 'remember me' box when you login, hopefully that will avoid future probs.
