I think it sounds like there are a lot of middle men wanting to take a slice out of something and this money will have to come from somewhere which I can't see the customer wanting to foot the bill for.

If I were hiring a tradesman I would want him/her to keep the price competitive by cutting back on things like advertising, charges for agencies and middle men, rather than cheaping out on materials or using cheaper staff.
