Views on this please gents.

First full day back in work today JOY!!!

Gave a new guy a start, friend of a friend kinda thing (he is a spark). Now we were working on a local authority 3 bed semi, little old lady you know the kind

All works in this type of premesis are surface i.e pvc mini trunking.

Now personally when I have a trunking drop next to a door frame or in a corner when I've lidded up I like to run a bead of decorators filler down the sides so it blends in and I think looks better.:D

The newbie then turns round and says to me that I'm being ----!!!!! and that he would never do that as it's a waste of time.

I'm interested to see how many others do the filler thing, or was he right am I being ----???????
Also do you use the proper trunking adaptors or not???

Cheers.

100% agree with you, the job looks so more professional when we caulk the job, if that is his standard get someone else as he seems to have bad habits

Lenny
If you had given me a 'start' then i would do the job the way you want it done, i don't fill as a rule i hate having to run surface and use trunking. I do use connectors for all joint's and bend's

Yes I do.

Those that are prepared to use filler should stand with pride, our skelton guns held high. It will be the same group who stand by their hoovers, and the bunch who remember what a dust sheet was for.

Its also the group that will be out work soon, the newbies having undercut all of us.

There's an old saying 'if you want a job done.......

He's probably to young for that.....and since when do you use filler on a play station?.....lol :D

I feel we need to be more helpful to the newbies, and younger sparks. Us old farts will remember working with Common Sense, Pride, and Elbow Grease.

Dave, you must remember to supply details, of were and how, PRIDE can be downloaded - and formats avaliable.
