just a heads up to any member who is thinking of upgrading a faithful 1553 due to the type A RCD testing. here is a response I just received from Megger regarding......

The MFT1553 will test both Type AC and Type A RCDs



The blue button allows you to toggle between AC and dc (Type A) To test selective Type AC and Type A RCDs press and hold the blue button until a triangle appears in the centre of the display

The MFT is now in selective RCD mode



Press and hold the blue button until the triangle disappears to revert back to normal RCD mode

i have, but.... may sell it. so used to 1553,
