Unread posts counter inaccurate?

Anyone know why I'm seeing 111 unread posts on the post counter say the top of the page, but the menu bar for unread posts says you have no unread posts?

Glad someone else sees this. My total varies. As far as I know I have no unread posts, but it says I currently have 281. It's done this for years.

I can't cope when the post count doesn't go back to zero when I've read everything. At least there's a null button but I worry I'll miss something really important between pressing and confirming.

Really must get out more...

16374 unread posts is what I'm seeing in your screenshot. You just don't get the lightning symbol like you get on a phone. But it's the same number.

ah.. I was looking for 'unread posts', not 'What's new'... ?
so, not that many then.......

I have 8505 whats new notifications, good job I don't look at them, just the Latest posts drop down on the right hand side.
