Evening all..

Just wanted a bit of advice about Earthing!! I'm not too sure whos responsibility the Earthing conductor is from the earth block to the cable sheath? It's 4mm and before I give out any certificate for a CU change I want to see 16mm. All other bonding and earthing needs upgrading as well but it was just this bit I was unsure about as I thought maybe its the DNO's field?

Cheers..

DNO earth. leave as is. just work from MET . if Ze is >0.8, contact DNO.

Thanks Telectrix.

Ze is 0.15. I will upgrade all my earthing and bonding bits to current regs but leave that bit. Am I still able to give a cert?

Just seems a bit odd.. I'll put down 16mm for earthing on the cert when I've upgraded my bit knowing that theres a 4mm link to the sheath from the earth bar.

Quite agree with you but if the 4mm is fixed to the DNO head you can't change that and from your OP the Ze is fine so I'd be finishing off the cert and raising an invoice!

for an old TNC-S connection to the sheath, that id the dog's danglies. usually it's only about 2.5mm bare.

If that's an earth wire connected to a ring type clamp with a nut and bolt onto the lead sheath,I would and have changed these countless times,if not ignore me I have a mammoth job to see pictures anyway lol

No nut and bolt, firmly soldered into place :smiley2:
