Discuss Wages for different trades in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Got them from the website i linked to. It's set by the users of it. So i assume fairly average.

You can compare yourself to others in your field and in your area etc

That has surprised me, not too sure if I trust the results. Certainly in my area plumbers, or rather "Gas Engineers" command more money than sparkies.

Yeah i found it a bit hit a miss. I think it depends on how many have filled it in etc.

Well not sure what the minimum wage is but I do know that the electrical trade has never been particularly well paid....would love to hear from anyone who earnes the large amounts claimed and find out how they do it.

Are you employed or self employed?

If you are employed the minimum wage is £7.50 per hour which equates to about £14K before tax... so after tax about £12K or £1000.00 per month

I work for a company but we are all required to be self employed as limited companies so we have to supply our own vans. we are paid on a pay when paid basis which seems normal now and

its a pittance especially as you have to make provision for holiday and sick pay, plus your own pension...

I wouldn't work for so little

I don't think I'm unusual in this respect it seems to be the norm in this area....no pension but a very big credit card balance:(

Well a little too late for me I think at my time of life, but it is something that the younger generation of wanabe sparks should be aware of before choosing a job
