Out of interest, what is the best gauge tri-rated to use for a wander lead? I guess too small (0.75mm) would be too fiddly to work with unreeling/reeling, or is that not the case? Perhaps 1.5mm is the best compromise?

I've had a message from the bloke who I bought mine from thanking me for starting this thread.

He says that he's now sold out (he only made 4 of them) but he'll have another 10 for sale next week if anyone is wanting one.

Hope that helps, as for the reel looking naff, couldn't give a monkeys as long as it works and keeps the thing tidy.

Nah .... he isn't a member, but I have invited him to join.

I was just doing a search for a Wander Lead on Ebay & stumbled on him, bought a lead from him, liked it & thought some of you would too, so started this thread.

After that, we chatted a bit about the motorbike he's got for sale & during that convo, he told me that he'd sold all of the Wander Leads & was making some more.

That's all there is to it really, & it ISN'T me who's making them .... I DID think about making one for myself, but when I found these ones already made for £30 with the bits costing £20, I didn't think it worth the aggro for the sake of £10. Maybe that's why I'll never be a rich man?????
