Well, Lou asked me to introduce myself. I am not an electrician. I am a retired IT hardware guy. On a non-professional level, I pride myself on my troubleshooting techniques, and am fluent in residential electricity, plumbing and construction as well as electronics and all things mechanical and electrical, automotive and otherwise.

So why am I here? Hopefully I can add some value to the forum at some point, but for now, I have a newly found GFCI issue and I am stumped as to where next to go to troubleshoot it. . See post in the DIY forum.

Welcome!

We do have some USA-specific help but a lot of the site is UK-centric due to the history, etc. So you will find quite a lot of terms are different (e.g. GFCI = RCD here), The DIY forum is really for beginners and only a few approved folks can post there in case of giving advice that is too advanced / dangerous to a complete beginner.

As always you have to take great care with electricity and if in doubt about your skill or access to adequate tools / test equipment, then get a professional in for that bit.
