Came across this today, do you think it needs a code 1? (I wasn't doing a PIR btw)

The main isolation switch is broken off in the closed position with metal showing and your able to put objects through the hole (can't really see on the pic)

Do you think the main earth needs replacing and up grading?

The warning notice above should read "electrical connection do not remove because it will burn out by itself in due course".

lol whats he want some tape over it so as to reinstate barrier to ip2x and is that a new form of UPS

Yep there's no way to isolate any of the db's. It's been like this for years and they won't put their hand in their pocket to sort it out! "where's there blame there's a claim" springs to mind, just a matter of time.

F me it gets worst. Gone back this morning to finish off and rain is getting into the electrics cupboard and falling on top of the dis boards. I told the manager and walked away until its sorted.

Out of interest, "IF" something was to happen after an electrician left a site like the one described here and it was proven at a later date that the electrician had noticed this scenario but did not take any action could that electrician be held liable? I'm sure it was explained to me that this would be the case?

:thumbsup

NO HE COULDNT BE HELD LIABLE AS HE IS WORKING UNDER INSTRUCTION OF THE CLIENT

THE CLIENT HOWEVER COULD BE PROSECUTED IF IT CONTRIBUTES TO ANY CLAIM SO LONG AS HE HAS BEEN NOTIFIED
AS FOR THE OP

code1 for the broken switch and letter via registered mail to inform him of your concernes better writen down than "I told you!" verbal could be denighed and registered mail proves you did everything practical to imforn him of the dangers oooo and keep a copy

lol That's a joke, I wouldn't do any work for them if they wouldn't let you sort it for them. Where the hell do the tails go then?(inside the board)

Mogga I've got it written down and signed by the manager. Told him its only a matter of time until the dis boards blow up/catch fire. May be in 5 minutes or 5 years, I wouldn't put money on it lasting to much longer and there's no way to shut off the power. Advised him to place more fire extinguishers close to the cupboard.
