A cable stand, from 20mm galv conduit. He was well chuffed and couldn't wait to show me when I got home. I think he did well, still only 17.

Arrh yes, your obviously an engineer of repute to spot that. I was actually challenging members to post their adolescent engineering accolades.

I do recall making a steam windmill at school in the metalwork class, out of a tin can. Didn't last the passages of time unfortunately.

I also have somewhere in my collection an MI stripping (tool), made out of a steel rod, with a plastic coated handle, for comfort.
