hi all was thinking of buying a multi function tester but not sure what to buy i have been looking at metrel but a mate has brought a fluke 1653 (nightmere which tester)
any help please

our company tend to like the metrels probably because the're cheap they seem susceptibleto going funny whaat was happening was when i went from ir test back to continuity the meter wouldnt settle down even when leads were compensated i found a way of settling it down but it probably compromised the life expectancy of the meter!!!!
 
i use meggers

they're ok but soooo slow on the no-trip loop function (which is pretty much all you will use for Zs under the 17th)

also you have to shell out extra to get the plug top lead for measuring your cross connects when doing rings!
