Wiring Information please?

Hello all,

I have an 800w redhead light and the wires are coloured red white and black. Could anyone please tell me which wire goes to live neutral and earth on a UK 13amp plug? Kind regards, Alan

Can you post the exact make and model of this lamp. Going by the colours it seems to be from the US. The red and black are both phases and the white is neutral. This might not be compatible with a UK system.

Thank you for the reply. The light doesn't have a make or model name, it's a cheap Chinese lamp. I have since managed to get it to work by wiring the red to live, white to earth and black to neutral. Once again, many thanks for your reply. Cheers, Alan
