Discuss Worth a try to fix this? New screen just? in the Home Media Centre Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I've mended a few sets in the past by swapping out modules, but personally would be put off that one as I wouldn't fancy the faff of replacing the screen!
Just to put the one you show in perspective, eBay's typical 'sold' prices for Tosh 58" smart tv's seem to be around £17 to £35 for a non-working set (not necessarily smashed screen), and between £120 and £170 for a fully working set.

Seller hasn’t got back to me yet anyway, so expecting it to be in the skip by now.

She was trying to offload it for £150, but now free.

I’ve repaired sets in the past… successfully, and unsuccessfully…. And the cost of parts is probably more than buying a second hand tv that actually works.

Got an old 23” in the kitchen, wall mounted… identical set in the caravan, so we don’t get the remotes mixed up… a 32” in the snug and a brand new 44 in the living room.
Replaces the old one I dropped on my foot a while back.

Oh, and a 14” CRT in the attic which hasn’t been powered for about 10 years or more.
