Loki sent this PM to GMES:-

"Hi,

I have a new (latest version) Inspection, Testing and Certificatin including Periodic Reporting book that I'm happy to donate for the next competition if you want it?"

(Link to the book will be added soon)

We think this is brilliant! Trainees offering up prizes and what a very nice offer so please put a like &/or a thanks when he posts up on HIS competition thread  He has declined to run the comp himself so Me and GMES will step in. Seen as the prize is a testing book, the question is about testing!

Scenario, we have just installed new radial circuit in a house using 6242y flat T&E. A Radial Socket Circuit using 2.5mm with 1.5mm CPC/earth

The socket circuit end to end test result, R1 = 0.59

Question:-

What is the "expected" R2 result before testing?

This is a good little question and everyone should be able to have a go, it's only a little bit of maths after all.

Please PM ME with your answer and a winner will be chosen at random by Loki via a secret number selection like we have done in the past. Good luck, comp will close at 8:00pm Sunday 12/04

We have our 6th entry Jimmyray, who has used every bloody decimal point on his calculator to give his answer. You can all round it up from the fourth decimal place if you want to, or stick with the traditional 2 decimal places, both answers will be correct.

Why do I do this to myself? Why did'nt I say only to the 2nd decimal place? Why are the Trainees getting so good at this stuff?

GMES, it's all your fault. You should be running this comp! Your turn next!!!

Another entry has been received. And he used only 2 decimal points lol.

Sorry Jimmyray, I could not help it

Just sent my answer to Paul now. With workings, not sure if I'm even close to being right ... Could do with some info on testing... Think I blew my bosses probes today by accidently touching live to earth(in my defence there should have been sleeving on it) ... At least we know the MCB works though
Forgot to add:
a big thank you to Loki for being so generous to donate this prize for this competition
