Just wondering what would be considered a fair Christmas day call out charge.

£100 call out charge and then £10 for every 10 minutes on site is fair for Christmas Day I think
greed..... bear in mind that part of what we charge is for overheads. just because it's xmas day or whatever, fuel costs are the same as any day of the year, all other overheads remain constant. for the anti-social call-out, expect to charge double for your time. but that is only a part of the charge to the client.
If you want to talk about greed call out a plumber on Christmas day!
I think quadruple time for Christmas day is fair, Don't forget you are all time served professional trademen with real quality and know more than 50 builders and plumbers put together, plus it is our saviour Jesus's birthday, so around £100.00 for the first hour allowing for travel on this special day due to our quality is more than fair, and the customer will understand unless he is a Builder of course lmao, I suspect most customers would be delighted to actually get someone to the house if a fault occured in the first place, come on lads you are real skilled men, don't ever mention double time again for this day haha.
eh...3 phase more like....I`m thinking free, ITS CHRISTMAS, be nice.

listen short....you just know that phone will ring...lol.......I'm putting myself on call Christmas Day. £150 call out covering the first 30 minutes and then £60 per hour thereafter.
I do always explain how my rates work before leaving home and I also explain that the call out only deals with the Emergency in hand ie ring has gone off that boiler is wired into, get the boiler back on so that the family do not freeze in their sleep. I believe it's about weighing up if the situation is actually an EMERGENCY or just an inconvenience.
Some you can help over the phone, others???? lol
