The son of an illegal immigrant asks his dad, "Dad, what's democracy?"
"Well, son, that's when other people work and we get all the benefits from it!"
"But Dad, aren't the people who do all the work unhappy about that?"
"Sure they are son, but that's called 'racism."

The only problem there is that illegal immigrants don't get benefits.

It would reflect the true state of affairs if it read :-

The son of third generation lazy scrounger asks his dad, "Dad, what's democracy?"
"Well, son, that's when other people work and we get all the benefits from it!"
"But Dad, aren't the people who do all the work unhappy about that?"
"Sure they are son, but it's OK because we're British."

Those bloody illegal immigrants taking all our benefits.
Why don't they go out and get themselves a job?

a lot of them have. they're called polish/romanian/albanian/latvian/lithuanean/ electricians. eventually, it'll come back in rectification work. can't wait.

agreed. i wanted to shoot blair and brown, but after talking to adolph at a seance. he talked me out of it, said it was too humane.

Got mixed feelings about this. My wife is Polish, and without all that eu business we wouldn't have met and I wouldn't have my beautiful son. But I can't stand these lazy scrounging gits, wherever they come from.

with all due respect if you never met you'd probably be reinforcing the thread as oppose to taking a sideline due to your situation.... as it stands mass immigration has had a negative effect on the country straining housing, jobs and the medical service and is going to get worse if we comply with EU regulation.

Dont get me wrong if you found the one for you im happy for you but had the immigration policy been tighter you would have just met someone else and not been prompted by this post to defend.

That is one of the most bigoted posts I have ever read on here.

I have no commitment to any "foreigner" but welcome them to this country. Why should because if his partner was english should he have a different view on people who choose a life here?

Should all the ex pats then return so as not to put a strain on other countries benefits systems where they are drawing from them?

Maybe you should look around see how hard working alot of the immigrants are before judging them.

I totally see what you're saying, and actually agree to a large extent. But I still find it odd that specifically Polish people are willing to work for minimum wage 80 hours plus a week and yet I know plenty of English people who sit on their arses saying there are no jobs out there. My lass was working at Fox's Biscuits in Batley when we met, I had to force her to stop when she fell pregnant. They employ 90% Polish 10% other nationalities....partly due to the fact that the work is apparently beneath English people, and partly because they know they'll do it for the **** wage. If they paid a decent wage then maybe our own folks would do these kind of jobs and such as the Poles would be less incentivised to come here for work. Bearing in mind that when my lass was doing her CV I saw her work history.....our minimum wage looks pretty good to peple who are used to earning 80p - £1 p/h.

There is one very big floor in your argument here if your talking about Expat workers. And this is, ....UK Expat workers go to work in foreign countries on a company sponsored contract for a specific period. When that contract has been fulfilled the worker will return to UK, or sign a contract extension!! They do not put a strain on any countries benefit system, as they wouldn't need or be entitled to any benefits.

Even if your talking about those that emigrate to another country, you'd be hard pushed to find a country that would give you any benefits without having first paid into them for a given time. Unfortunately most countries don't allow foreigners to start claiming benefits as they walk out of the airport like they can in the UK.... lol!!

TBH this country is all screwed up it can't even look after it's own let alone the influx of immigrants both legal and illegal everything is at breaking point and there has to be a finite limit to how many people these islands can accomodate

I wonder how many other countries would throw money at immigrants the way this country does, the reason the immigrants take the jobs is they are given driving lessons and cars to get to work the indigenous population get no help

The EU has gone way beyond it's original remit of free trade between member countries and it's expansion has only brought on board countries who have no contribution to make other than depressing the hourly rates in other member countries with the shift in labour that has occurred to the richer member countries

And this post has such a blinkered view, so any one who doesn't welcome these people with open arms is bigoted I think you need to look at the bigger picture

Please tell me which countries have such lavish benefits systems that match the UK for british expats

I've looked around and seen the quality of the work some of these immigrants do they may appear to work hard but the end result leaves a lot to be desired

The Eu has turned our country into a dumping ground for europes trash, consider the argument for assylum seekers they have passed through countries such as germany and france to name but 2 yet they end up here,if they were true assylum seekers they would stay in the first safe country they came to and not head here.the fact is we are an island and as such provide the ideal place to dump all of europes rubbish, then prevent it going back to mainland europe. This is borne out by recent events where we were told by the Eu that we could not deport a certain criminal back to his own country after his release from our prisons as it would breach his human rights! My question to all these people who make up the rules is this, what about my rights and the rights of every other decent british person to live in their own country without a load of foreign criminals being allowed here, surely we have enough of our own.Every week in the papers there is some latvian or kosovan being done for fraud, theft or sex offences it needs to stop now.

You are in denial, believe it, it happens and is continuing to happen on a daily basis I know people who have questioned the legitimacy of benefit cheques for £2000 they have been offered to pay for cars and been given short shrift by the department that handed it out

I have spoken to many people who have first hand experience how this country will bend over backwards for these immigrants while refusing the genuine citizens of the country the same level of support

To use your words "GET A GRIP" it's real and it's happening

Well said,When I had to give up work due to ill health they gave me every excuse going as to why I couldn't receive any benefits, when i finally did get something it was 3 years later after going bankrupt due to not being able to work, yet the immigrants come over here go to the top of the housing list and when they've been here a few months qualify for full benefits, then they have the cheek to complain about what they get! well if it's so bad over here then why don't they ho back to their own country? simple, because whatever they get here is more than they would get at home.
