Just loading a film into one of my cameras and came across some of my father's old stuff.
A metal self loading cassette with a label saying what it is loaded with and an unused Kodachrome film with it's metal can. The film in those days was bought process paid I wonder if Kodak will still...
This is a hardware shop in Market Harborough called Frank Gilberts run by Frank himself since who knows when. It is rammed floor to ceiling with all manner of things and somewhere in front of the chap being served is the wonderful Frank at his counter peephole surrounded by stock. He must be in...
Been sorting through some pics and came across this. I have a thing for piers and would have been working in the area but cannot place where this is, I thought Worthing, Brighton and Eastbourne but fairly certain it isn't them. It has an odd tone because it was shot on Lomo retro slide film, yes...
So in Sainsbury this evening and after five minutes or so nearly all the lights go off. The only lighting is from the chilled cabinets, behind the deli and the Argos concession, some areas are pretty dark. All of the emergency lighting still have their charge indicators on so that is another...
This is bizarre, my girlfriend said stick the kettle and as I did I thought this Haden kettle (purchased because made in the UK) had lasted at least two years. Boiled for a minute or so then the electric went off, I thought great power cut. After 15 minutes she said has something tripped and I...
I've just slotted this into another thread but for those who don't pick up on it this takes some beating for sheer incompetence he actually refers to himself as a craftsman.
Now I only replace my phone when they need replacing but my old Samsung S7 kept freezing the other day then died. Took to a phone repair shop they said new battery so I left with them 24hrs later all working, the old battery all bulged out. Worked for a day then kept freezing, restarting and now...
We had some old rcd testers in the office so I bought them home to see if they still function. Tester 1 no trip, tester 2 no trip go to my consumer unit and hit the test button no trip, shock horror how long has it been like that. Today I performed surgery and fitted a new device and it lives on.
Last few months working with different people I have noticed different pronunciations for 'Wago'.
One says Wago another says Wago and another states Wago, I concurred with the latter so how do you pronounce it?
Maybe I should do a survey.
Now I haven't charged a car battery since my teen days but it seems our two year old car like many now are dependant on a good charge for all the functions to operate, the stop/start rarely works and the dealer who we know told me what I already knew it does not go far enough each day. They have...
I rewired my loft three or four years ago fitting two twin 58w fluorescents. Been up and down getting Christmas stuff down, about the third time there was a pop from one of the fittings and it stopped working. Back up there today and a bigger pop from the other which took the breaker out now I...
Was visiting the priory at Canons Ashby when I see several of these dotted around the building. A date at the top indicates 1982 so not part of the original building fabric. I know what they are but anyone else. The top has been cut off but it just ends at a bowl shaped affair.
Was doing a periodic last week and came across one of these outside a factory. The factory has a TN-C-S earthing system and is connected direct to it using the supply earth.
I have nothing to do with EV points so is this acceptable or will it require an electrode?
