Can anyone advise when SPDs are required to be installed on commercial properties?
I'll always install them on a full rewire of a commercial property or if I need to install a new DB, I'll make sure to fit one with an SPD installed.
What about if its a large store, 36 to 72 way existing board...

I've seen some companies doing max demand calculations/reports on commercial properties and this would be useful for us to do. However we don't have anyone who is skilled/knows enough to do this. Although our team is very experienced this seems like a niche we don't have experience in. However I...
Hi, I know a public forum isn't the best place to seek advice regarding "How much do you charge" chat but I recently did an EICR on a business property (Bar & Restaurant)
I carried out the EICR when they were closed through the night. 3 boards, roughly 26 circuits total. No previous reports, no...
Just sat contemplating life and realised i don't think i've ever seen any RCD protection on the boards we maintain/install at work.
I've seen 300mA protection on some section boards but don't recall ever clocking a 30mA in a 3 phase board.
Am i just not looking properly?

I've just started an apprenticeship with a decent sized firm (I got taken on full time - hooray!) and was thinking this week about how a lot of people, mostly online, turn their nose up at people who do domestic work.
I was wondering why, since at my work everybody seems to do the bare minimum...
I was under the impression that swiming pools needed rcd or rcbo protection on all circuits that serve that location or pass through it. Its a commercial pool
But where I am the pool is feed with rcbos from one board but the board that serves the pool underwater lights pool heater and pumps has...

If so, is there any course etc I can do so I can do work on commercial 3 phase properties aswel?

Hi
Trying to sort an argument here, am I right in saying that ALL work including altering existing circuits in commercial and industrial installations requires SPD protection unless a risk assessment is completed.
The only exception would be a direct replacement for maintenance purposes?
Thanks
