Hi all,
Where do I get phase (Z1) and earth (Z2) conductor impedances to calculate earth fault loop impedance?
I have seen (R1 + R2) tables which give combinations for cable sizes up to 35 mm2. What about cables > 35 mm2?
Can I use voltage drop tables (for phase conductors) from Appendix 4 in...

Afternoon. The cat 5 data screened cable, or some people call it shielded cable. I am not being stupid here, this cable still has to be run seperate from 230/415v cable runs doesnt it? Just because its screened does not mean it can be run with other cable bands. Also If installing the cat 5...
Have got a building to wire with data and coax with the usual power. Am going to put in a trunking system. the question is can i run my data for IT sockets in the same compartment as tv coax cable??

I have just installed power and lighting to a small office building and the client would like me to install data also.
If Im honest, I have only ever pulled cat 5 data cabling into positions from where the hub would be to the data outlet points.
I have never terminated any cabling though...

Hello all,
I have ran into a problem with a SB3300 tripping out on a recent install. After checking mains volts and hertz I got a reading of 50.2 hertz and voltage fluctuating between 252v and 262v. A quick read of the inverter spec makes me think over voltage is the problem.
Can anyone...

I'd heard (possibly read on a thread here) that there were issues with the climate data on PVSol giving significantly underestimated yield figures as compared with PVGIS - can anyone comment on whether this is still (or ever has been) the case? Was on the verge of buying Pro version but backed...
Seeing as we have so many installers on this forum, an idea struck me about the performance of solar arrays.
Seeing as between us all we must have hundreds of installs under our belts, wouldn't it be handy to collect all the data from these installs and save them on a seperate website...
Hi all, looking for a little bit of info if you would be so kind.
I would like to have a phone point in all of my rooms at home so i have ran two cat 5e from each room back to a location under my stairs. One for phone and one for data.
In the past i just daisy chained them but read various...
Hi all.
I posted a while ago about my dissertation research into domestic solar PV. Worcester kindly PM'd me but his message box is full so I can't reply!
As part of my research I require some 'real life' performance data of domestic solar PV installations.
Can any one point me in the...

Hi,
We are currently pricing for work in a New data center, off the spec, it states 'earth floor'
My business partner thinks this is to Bond every metal leg of the raised floor? Any body have previous experience of this, seem very strange, I've worked maintenance in data ctrs before and...
I've been asked to run cables for a small network while the property is undergoing refurbishment.
Would cat5 cable suffice for both telephones and broadband extensions?
