Hi Folks,
Just a quickie, that you may know instantly. Are split load 16th edition 5+5 Starbreaker boards changeable to 4+6. Need an extra way on the RCD side if possible and not too familiar with these boards. They are the plug-in type breakers.
Had a look on electrium but no joy thus far...
Hi friends, I'm an electrical engineer and i would like to start my next project this month and for that i would like to know something about the*******************. Could someone please help me with that.
I need to switch 2No 3kW heaters on using a 7 day heating programmer. Presumably I'll need a contactor to switch that load rather than the heating programmer (?).
Can anyone recommend a suitable one? Many thanks if anyone can help,
Peter

Require the circuit to be re-tested?
I'm having a dispute with a colleague about a electric shower install.
I could swear I remember a Reg stating if the load (Ib) is changed on a circuit then it needs re-testing (at least I would have thought a MWC regardless if the kW is higher or lower)...
Hi,
What are your thoughts on adding a further 63A load to this board? It will be using 63A too, not just a few amps of it as its a for a twin car charger.
looking at it, theres a max load of the following if everything was maxed out.
L1: 126A
L2: 193A
L3: 211A
I need a 63A single phase...
Evening Chaps,
I need some assistance with regard to a three phase load calculation.
Back story here is im fitting a new supply cable for an industrial three phase oven and need to know what the max load will be per phase to ensure adequatley sized cable is is fitted. The cable run will be 80...
Hi guys out of practice by a few years.
I have added 4 new double sockets to an existing ring main. All this has a new feed back to the main fuse board. Switching on the new 32A breaker for this circuit and everything is fine, used a plug in circuit tester the LED kind on each socket and all...
I've been scouring the internet trying to get some answers, and couldn't find any so I thought I'd ask the experts.

I have a question on balancing a load. We have 3 cabins with the following loads: 10kW, 8kW and 3kW, supplied by a three phase supply. Each cabin will have it's own supply. Is there a simple way of balancing these loads, or is it possible?
Hello guys!
Just wondering if anyone can help me...
Part of my job asks me to test the batteries in alarm panels with a 5A load and record the voltage after about 15seconds, basically to if the batteries any good.
I'm either looking where I can buy one and what it's called as I can't find...
Just trying to work out a cable and fuse size for a 3kva 415/240v transformer with a 2kW load on it, using Amtech single cable, there are no settings for showing a transformer on the load side, is it possible to calc a transformer load on Amtech.
If I use a motor as the load it chooses fuses...
Hi
I have a 4 KW solar pv system on my roof and are producing power abundantly. FIT is good although I dont want to export all of the power for obvious reasons. I heard about solar pv load diverting devices like solarImmersion that can send the extra power to immersion tank to heat water. Are...
Client's cooker/hob stopped working - he called his service plan chaps and they said the cooker and hob were fine, but it was the supply, so he should call an electrician.
I went round and it seemed like an obvious problem, the quite old 45A isolator had had a meltdown and fallen apart inside -...
Hi all,
I have no knowledge in your field and would really appreciate some advice.
I am setting up a temporary sound-installation in the corner of a park. There is a school approximately 100m from the installation site. The installation requires 8 powered speakers and a laptop. I am hoping to...

Hi. I am new to the forum and most of my experience is in 12/24v systems. I have a bit of a basic question really and was hoping to clear it up. If I had one PSU with an output voltage of exactly 12 volts and 4 loads of 1 amp each and a 5th load of 2 amps all ran in 1 mm cable and each cable run...

Hi there,
I'm installing two ovens, each with a total load rating of 3.5kW. (see details of oven here). The kitchen already has a 20A double pole switch and a 45A dual outlet plate. Is the switch sufficient because I've calculated that the current is likely to exceed 20A? However, I'm not sure...

I need to monitor a 3PH supply in an industrial/ commercial premises, to see how much they are pulling Max Demand and generally how the phases are balanced and how much spare capacity there is as they want to add more power.
Would you hire someone in to do this or is there something you can...
Hi all, I need some help with working out the correct cable size for some work I'm doing at the moment.
I am currently working on testing Mobile units carrying out PIR and remedial works.
I have already worked out my answer which I will keep to myself as not to invite negative comments, the...
Hello,
I have been looking for MCB (originally Legrand 061 64) which is laying horizontally with respect to DB and is connected by the means of external copper PIN on DB (i.e. Screw terminal on 1 side of the MCB only).
I had a look into different suppliers RS, CEF, ScrewFix and unfortunately I...
