Hi guys,
Looking to upgrade our software for booking our materials. I need software that we can put items in an inventory and book it out as we take it for jobs. When the job is complete we can see how much materials/labour we used, and the cost to actually do the job.
Anyone know of anything...

Just been a rolling job really- few days here and there- no real rush sort of jobby!
Anyways- asked for some money for 1st time for this job- which seemed all fine/ no...
The house in question has all carpets lifted so easy access for running cables. So here's what I've done and to do. Materials were £500.
1. 17 spotlights wired and fitted.
2. 10 additional points in kitchen (sockets, fused spurs, cooker switch) walls chased, conduit installed and wired.
3...
Evening all..
I thought I'd put this in the Arms as it could be a bit delicate!
I am currently wiring up a cattery. The couple are not concerned with how long it takes so I am fitting it in when I am able, doing a day here and there and each time giving them an invoice for the day or two's...
Hi there,
Does anyone know the name of the 'shroud' that would go over a mains supply cable before entering the fused cutout, typically on a TNCS supply. This item is black, rubbery and 'Y' shaped to fit a 2 core cable. So far I have been able to find heat shrink tubing but I would like to find...

What sort of prices are you roughly charging for a full s/y plan from scratch? All the controls are supplied I just have to supply cable, SFCU, triple pole isolators, surface pattresses, etc. These are lived in property's and potentially a large contract. Will obviously have to do bonding if not...

Alright People,
So I've been working for an installation company for the last 5 years and I've decided to go out on my own. I need some help setting up. I'm wondering who you guys use for your public and employee liability insurance, what extra cover you might have found appropriate and how...

As the title, anyone here got experience of leaving jobs part way through?
I've a client we've been doing some major work for that is pi$$ing me right off. Making all sorts of unreasonable demands and is now saying that the work he's been really happy with up to now is a load of crap and has...
OK here is the scenario....you work for a builder who is CIS registered, you are CIS registered too, he deducts your tax from your invoice to him @ 20%, this is for your labour only and excludes material costs. However you have purchased 10 double sockets for the job @ £4 each and sold them to...
So I've been doing some calculations.
I know how much money I need to make to survive and have a good living; I have a good idea of what I can charge in order to get work but roughly how much can you estimate you will make from materials.
The type of work that I will mostly be doing is high...
Hi I am not sure where to post this question so hopefully this will be ok. I am a self employed electrician and on Wednesday night I had nearly £2000 of materials, lights, cable etc stolen from the lock up on a job I was working on. I only have public liability insurance so I cant claim from...
Evening everyone, I have just received a job through to install a positive pressure fan in a council owned tenanted property, I would be interested to see what sort of prices people are charging, only that the price I quoted was accepted but with the usual comments from the Q.S. "A little...
Hey all...I don't know if many of you saw my 'introduction' post but I'm currently working as a buyer for an electrical contractor after having spent 9 years in the electrical wholesale industry. Also studying to be a sparky doing evening courses.
Point of this post is just to say that if...
I hope someone can help.
I've taken on a large project, new build oak frame house. Customer happy to pay deposit and then money at completion of first fix. Completion of second fix has been delayed as they've run out of money to complete parts of the building but a large part of the second...
Morning guys..
I recently did a job (partial rewire) with a builder, since then he has rang me and asked me to wire up his girlfriends small new extension. He is a decent chap and was very patient and helpful with my first partial rewire (he was the project manager). Because of this and also...
Hello, new to site.
I am wondering what systems people use when pricing jobs! I mean particularly larger jobs such as an install for a three bed house new build first and second fix.
I have previously worked out materials then gage how long it will take then giving me my price. Normally works...
Wiring 4 flourecesnts lights that are already fitted and putting 2 switches on, to control 2 lights each and wiring into board. Materials supplied by me which include 30mtrs t&e cable, clips, 2 switched spurs and 4 2nd hand 5ft flourecsent fittings (as good as new) how much would you charge?
Struggling with my homework as usual. Please help.
What are some materials which could be disturbed during electrical installation work and if disposed of incorrectly could be hazardous to the environment? I already have asbestos. Thanks.
:confused5: Rohan.
