Hi, I need to change the cable that runs from the switch to the porch light fitting. I have the floorboards up and the switch disconnected but cannot budge the cable, other than remove the plaster on the wall i am stuck. Is there a trick of the trade to doing addressing this problem.
Hi anybody know if its possible to get metal plaster depth boxes where the 3.5mm accessory screw is encased, as they are in surface boxes and plasterfix boxes so as to prevent tilers screwing back through cables. Never given it much thought before but it makes sense.
Hi
I'm wiring a new house and am at the stage of sealing the boxes for behind the sockets and switches.
The holes have been tracked out to fit 25mm deep boxes and screwed in. I had been planning to finish the installation ready for the plasterer by cementing in the gap around the box but am...

Hi,
Am moving a few sockets/switches on a job.
Much smaller than normal works I do so seems a waste to get a plaster out for a few mins work.
So what do you use to tidy up the plaster around sockets/switches.
I was thinking this, anyone used?

Replace 12 downlighters in a larve and plaster ceiling. Wooden larves then 20mm of this really dry crumbly plaster worst I've ever come across.
Took one down lots of the plaster fell down with it. All the wooden larves looked burnt to a crisp. And it was right bang centre of a joist. Measured...

Can you get anything that fits between a double-socket outlet and the pattress that covers up any do
dgy plaster / wallpaper around the socket?
Something like those panels that fit around a lightswitch to stop you gettin fingerprints on the walls.
What a nightmare..... covered carpet up with my dust sheet (should have used my roll of carpet protector!)
Only had to take out 3 x old R60 eyeball lamps.
I've ended up somehow getting a nice little grey smudge right in the middle of the customers cream carpet - great !!

Hi Forum
I have rewired my house and then had a plasterer come in and skim the rooms. He hasn't plastered level and in some cases a few millimeters of the pattress sticks out of the plaster. As a consequence, there is a gap around the switches and they are not flush to the wall.
Do you know of...
