Hello guys.

Im a plumbing and heating guy. I work with low voltage all the time and get calls from property managers everyday.

I looked at a range tonight. They've blown two boards and were told by the appliance sales company that they had an issue at the plug so I went and had a look..

Basically this 4 hole plug was wired hot hot neutral with 110 to neutral on one leg and 208 to neutral across the other leg.

At the panel was a service wire 4 to 8 gauge feeding this plug. I've worked with electritians its the kind of wire you would run for a service with an uninsulated aluminum ground.

So this ground was the neutral. Im gonna recommend a licensed electritian to them if there isnt a simple explination as to why one hot side was 110 across but the other was 208 across and its frying everything.

BTW its 240 across the hot legs.

Thank you.

Sounds like they have accidentally connected one of the hots to the high leg in the panel (B Phase) which is 208V above neutral. They should be on A & C. which are the 120V hots.
