I have one four (4) way switch on a two switch receptacle that controls pod lights in the kitchen. If I put a three (3) way switch in a receptacle that controls the same lights (connected to the same 4 way switch) and another three (3) switch that controls the same lights. Will this cause issues to other lights?

One of my three (3) way switches doesn't work on the two switch receptacle. The same two switch receptacle in the kitchen. Is it because I should be putting four (4) switches in the other two locations referenced above? So in other words if you have a 4 way switch in one location should it be in the other locations as well?
