Hi there, first posting so go easy....I've been browsing the forum for a while and there's some good people here so thanks in advance for any advice. Just by way of introduction I'm hoping to start some training in the next couple of months - not finalised what/where etc but hope too v soon.

Anyhoo I'm putting a new kitchen in at home next week and want to do as much as groundwork as i can to get things moving. Can anyone have a look at the diagram I've done below to show what I'm planning to let me know if I'm moving in the right direction....Thanks again.
(By the way I'm not touching the cooker circuit and the only work i plan on doing is chasing the walls etc but need to know if this would be the right setup - every circuit in my flat is radial and from reading here and in books i think this should work and is in safe zones etc.) Thanks again

putting any cabinet lighting in??? if ya chasing out walls you'll need to do this for cabinet lighting too....Just a thought

Thanks Adamh - noted about the jb's and 4mm cable - i was hoping that as there are only two sections left on the consumer unit that a radial circuit would suffice.

DYCHE4230 i've got the left hand fcu in there for the cabinet lights , and will chase a section for the light cable as well - thanks!

are you breaking into a ring for this cct or starting from scratch as a ring or radial will take up the same amount of space in the board?

Sorry did n't read your diagram properly, like adamh says put it on a ring if its a new circuit much better job...

Put a switch wire at the door for the under cupboard lighting makes life so much easier. save spurs and keep it simple take it off the lighting ciruit. eep the cooker as you have it but as a strait switched fused spur off the ring.

All good advice thanks again all. Adamh - as i say I'm not connecting anything to the consumer unit as i need to get someone who knows what they're doing for that - but i (wrongly) thought that a ring took up 2 fuse slots so that's good to know - leaves me one more to hook up some outside lights - marvellous.
