Hi all,

I would like to pick some knowledge from you clever folks, as the title says; Career advice!

I currently have the following qualifications;
  • 2391 test and inspection
  • 17th edition (full 4 year apprenticeship)

I have had my 17th edition for about 2 years, I am elecsa registered and currently work doing home automation and electrical projects in central London.

I am studying the HNC in electrical and electronic engineering, of which I will be finished within the next 6 months.

Basically, I am very interested in two areas; Electrical design and Oil and gas engineering.

I am struggling to find companies which would advertise such jobs and whether they are looking for someone that has taken a route similar to mine.. or someone who has come straight out of university with no experience. :banghead:

Can anyone suggest good engineering companies? or even areas of work I can look in to?!

Thankyou very much in advance.

Stephen.

go to some web sites like shell. bp ,total and so on they have a post grad bit, and go to some industrial estates were there are some engineering and off shore workshops

Cheers guys, I will have a look at the websites!

Has anyone else on this forum taken/about to take the same route?
