hi every one first time ive posted so please bear with me. I've just had my annual nic inspection & I was pulled up on not having a circuit chart on the inside lid of the db. I only do domestic part p. but surely the lableing of protective devices in a average house is enough? All the info on the chart is useless to the average home owner & any sparks knows it anyway. Any thoughts from you chaps cheers.

For domestic I don't tend to bother because I have come accross so many DIY (Destroy It Yourself :D) jobs and found the circuits dont correspond to the chart, dangerous really. Although it is nice going to a job and taking out the chart to find everything where it's supposed to be. If there is a chart I update it, if not I just make sure the protective device is labelled!

There is a reg that kind of translates to the fact that EVERY circuit must be suitably labelled as to what its protecting, and that is usually achieved by a circuit schedule left at the CU, but not necessarily fixed to it.

Well if you've issued an EIC the circuit schedule/test results will suffice.
Or purchase the self adhesive circuit schedules from NICEIC (see a pattern forming here  )

yes I do certenley see a pattern. every time I have an assessment theres allways something that they require you to have or do and of course it is available through them.

Must admit i put the EIC in a plastic sleeve and place it behind the meter tails as they enter the CU but that said the customer could still remove it so the way it works is its a bit like an MOT its only as good as when jobs done and if you take a quick pic your covered.
