look good. i'll just pop over to the U.S.A. in tea break, pick up a pair.

Wire stripping notches are in AWG sizes, so they may not strip metric cable without nicking. The screw cutters should be OK for 3.5mm and 4mm screws, as the cutter sizes are UTS#6 (3.5052mm) and UTS#8 (4.1656mm).
Update: Wire stripper notches from AWG18 0.403" (approx 1mm diameter) to AWG10 0.129" (approx 0.35mm diameter), which is not even large enough to strip 1mm[SUP]2[/SUP] (approx 1.1mm diameter) solid conductors.

If their hand tools are going to be to the same quality as their power tools I'll be interested if they bring them over here (The medieval issue markiesparkie pointed out will obviously need to be rectified first)

Although I didn't spot any insulated screwdrivers?

got a pair of these. OK , but won't cut 2.5 T/E in 1 go. too narrow cutting area. the ferrule crimper is good though. supposed to be just 1.5mm and 2.5mm but does 4mm OK.

The wire loop capstan works well too. The stripping notches are at just the point I like cut, which annoys the hell out of me when using them. I don't find the ergonomic angled head comfortable to use either, but that maybe because I'm ambidextrous and have very flexible wrists from playing table tennis for at least 2 hours a day.

Think your calculator is on the blink Markie.
18 AWG is 0.0403" dia, 0.772mm dia, and 10 AWG is 0.1019" dia, 2.59mm dia. Certainly 10 AWG is bigger than 18 AWG.

Oops! Trust Wikipediia conversion... NOT! Thanks for correcting that, should have checked my source, particularly as it was Wiki, but was in a rush. Of course you are right 18AWG is 0.0403" (I make that 1.02mm, not your 0.772mm) diameter, approx 0.82mm[SUP]2[/SUP] and 10AWG is 0.1019" (2.59mm) diameter, approx 5.26mm[SUP]2[/SUP] As you can see my previous post was unnecessarily alarmist, the stripping range is actually a useful 0.82mm[SUP]2[/SUP] to 5.26mm[SUP]2[/SUP].

mine work a treat.

A question for you guys. Do the screw croppers on these tools actual work? without ruining the thread at the end?

Yes and no :devilish:
If you have a nut available, thread that on the bolt first to a point below the cut line, then after you have made your cut as you take the nut off, it corrects any thread problems that the cutting has caused.

Hope that makes sense :wink5:
