Best (and worst) things I've bought for less than £20 in last week ....

After for ages thinking "strewth!" at the price of a toothed scutching chisel attachment for my SDS hammer drill I finally paid out 18 quid for one and boy did it save me a ton of time chasing several boxes last week. That's going to get a lot of use now.

Also, I got some Hellermann Tyton grommet strip (25m x 1.0mm - perfect for standard metal boxes). This grommet actually stays in place when you put the cable through, and saved me buying some 25mm rubber grommets. Price around £16 from Cablecraft.

Worst two buys? Tower 2.5mm cable clips ... and then more Tower cable clips - will I never learn? I must have been unlucky enough to get a batch where they'd made the nails from PVC too. I keep looking for alternatives to Tower, but not yet found any for 2.5 and 1.0 mm

The ones I get are "appliversal" branded. They're alright. Never had an issue with Tower clips myself though.

Once had a batch of towers where about 20% of the clips in the box had the nail staight through the middle of the clip!......EngEx that city's currently supply are equally shyte. Another vote for Thorsman here.

Picked up some work gloves the other day at DIY shed. Got to till and it rang up £29...!!!! WTF.

The same gloves are on amazon but still stupidly priced at £20 almost with postage.
