Just wondering what the best make of screwdrivers you can buy? And what are the best side cutters? Thanks

I like barcho screwdrivers when working on three phase etc and when working in domestic I prefer a wera screwdrivers.mainly down to how they feel in the indivuals hand.

For insulated screwdrivers i'd have to say stanley for value of money and their feel, the heads get loose overtime though. And side cutters these bad boys, nice small and compact, however sometimes their size gets in the way and I have to use my shears. PWSF7746_11.jpg
Eclipse by the way (to save head tilting)

Irazola are now Bahco.
I quite like the new Irazola/Bahco drivers, although I have used and still own some CK drivers.
I also have some Insulating Snap On drivers for when working live.
Never liked the look of the Wera drivers.

I love tools!!! Wera, 1000v interchangeable heads and knipex for cutters and shears. Bahco rachet screwdriver for general use, stanley for driver that can free hold the screw, dumpy .. Bahco rachet again. Love it!!

bacho and ck is in my tool bag..... and loads of all different type 4mm ones, as for cable sheers knipex.. and ck multi cutters for cutting 3.5mm accesorie screws ... take your pick

Wera screwdrivers bahco pliers and snips snap on ratchet driver standard and dumpy

One of my colleagues not long started with us has stanley fatmax 100v drivers which don't feel too bad and nws pliers and snips which feel ok pretty sharp too

IMO there is no contest in the Screwdriver category, I'm still using a set of Kew Technik's everyday, that I originally purchased in 1982! They are by far the most durable screwdrivers I know of, that is unless any other old-hand's kit can better that record of service.
I also have a pair of Lindsrom electricians side cutters from the same era that are still performing as good as new, the only drawback is they are insulated but not officially VDE rated. Although when they were tested by me, to the full VDE specification, they passed easily.

i have an assortment of makes so i can easily identify which one to take out of my bag!, i've got a couple of Wera ones, i love them but the insulation on the shaft is a bit flimsy. Wiha are good too. I have an extra long bacho pozi which is handy when i need a bit more torque. I have a couple of the old CK ones (i don't like the new CK ones, the handle fits funny in my hand, doesnt feel right at all). I also have a Boddingtons terminal that i got from Elexx this year which is good.
Don't like stanley, not since i owned one and the phillips head snapped off and i cut myself!
-wish someone would bring out some screwdrivers with different colours...i'm sick of red and yellow!

I have these Bahco screwdrivers, and a pair of these Stanley Maxsteel 175mm side cutters. Both are good and I would recommend. :)

I've been using whia slim fit, love them :-)

i got a slim fit bahco for taking isolator covers off.

it cost me 5 seconds with a knife to neatly scrape a bit off

seriously the insulation on a load of screwdrivers is rubbish so you can scrape a little off and no one will know any better

I'll stand by my Wera Kraftform VDE set, you can get them in hat they call a Big Pack for good money.

Wera VDE with laser cut tips are great. The laser cut seems to really help with cam out. Screwfix have a set of 4 for under £10 at the moment in their Winter sale section.

don't forget to pack one of these beauties in your toolbox. nobody'll take you seriously without one.

on a serious note though, i like draper expert. might not be a popular choice, but i like the comfortable handles.

Wera kraftform drivers for me and knipex pliers/snips. For comfort I liked using the draper expert drivers but I thought the quality of them was very poor (trying to loosen a screw that someone had horsed in and the head of the driver stayed where it was but the handle turned)

Irizola, I tried everything else and end up back with them. Just the terminal is crap so use a wera for that.

Currently using a set of Bahco insulated drivers but also have some CK ones knocking around that are alright.
I had the Wera drivers before bought a set when I started out and lost them over time, then got a free set with a Wylex CU few years back from Screwfix and the small terminal snapped on first use !

Bacho for me, quite like the lifetime guarantee aspect

i tried the wiha slim fit and i must say was a really nice driver however..... i managed to snap 4 terminal drivers within 2 months, which unfortunatly means they seem weak

Irazola if you got the money, not forgetting that they have a lifetime replacement long as you not trying to use them as a bolster.
Otherwise Bahco in general, altho it always comes down to what is comfortable for you to work with, everyone is different.

Yes i know, they are now Bahco Tekno+, altho it is only recent change over of name, they been owned by Bahco a while now, Irazola is still commomly used by everyone, i forgot to mention in my last post the change :blush5:

i've got a set of the irazolas. the only gripe i have is they are too long for my magma toolbag, so i bought a set of wiha slims interchangeable. quite impressed, esp. with the +/- for MCBs etc.

I have a set of the IRazola drivers and the blade on the 3.5mm snapped I still have the said driver how would I go about getting it replaced ?

WERA 100%! Have bought CK sets and they are average, wera set were like a tenner cheaper and grip better
