dont think too much of this tool after 6 cuts the blade starts binding on the armouring and flicks out only to get lost so stick to the hacksaw is my recommendation to anyone considering buying one!!!

it is only really suitable up to 2.5mm above this and it wont touch it basically in my opininon keep away and save your 25 quid.

your dead right tony ,wont b too long till a solution to this is available.
prototype is in production.will handle any cable size,does both circumferential cuts simultaneously and then rotates to strip axially.cuts the steel strands smoothly.hope you get to use one when out.plan to call it a steel armored cable stripper or S A C S for short(note my e.mail address).there is an alternative to the hacksaw and stanley!

I have one (i think lol) the one that is like a pipe cutter with a serrated blade?

anyway have used it a couple of times on very small SWA and found it ok I like the fact that you can keep the cable still and ring it without pulling it towards me to get a hacksaw behind (under a very tight control panel) as you know this ends up with a very uneven length of sheathing

hope that kinda makes sense I was given mine by a really nice guy I did my 17th with, I always thought there was a market for something like it and he happened to have one in his van and he very kindly gave it to me (its not very often anything like that happens!!)

I got mine for free from a rep trying to sell them in my wholsaler. Told me not to over tighten it and it will last a long time. I am up to 26 cuts on one blade. Must agree that you cant use it on anything above 4mm.

Have used mine on 16 and 25 mm 3c without probs! Plus the normal sizes

the best tool i have come across in years got mine from CEF about 7 months ago we only use 4mm 3 core swa for a radial circuits feeding cctv towers and this tool has saved me hours and hours termanating swa i have done about 50 cuts now and its still going stround well worth thr £25 all day long

Had the rep visit a training centre i was at, and the demo honestly was quite impressive, Then again it's a sales persons job . Thought id grab one, think i payed £25 for the Bladrunner (inc two blades) and a packet of 3 new blades. Ive used it about 10 times on 2.5mm (three core) and 4 times or 4mm (three core). To be fair its worked flawlessly on the 2.5mm but required a little effort and caution on the 4. Still on the first blade too. Handy little tool that lives in my secondary tool box.

I purchased one about 2 weeks hence, as I have a control panel to install with around 15 cables, I can manage around two before I get really ****ed off
and start stamping on small animals, used it a couple of times and I like it.
I think the nack is not to attempt to cut too fast, it does a neater job than I
normally manage with junior, although I can still slice open my palm with stanley.
