Code of practice for temporary electrical systems for entertainment and related purposes.

Has anyone done an experience/competance course on this?

If so, where and with whom... and what reward did you get?

Thanks

David

We do a lot of temporary stuff for clubs and concerts, providing the installation complies with the requirements and you issue a cert to the licenceing body your covered.

I've worked in the Entertainments industry globally for two decades and have never read it, never been asked to read it and have never lost work for not having done so.

All people are interested in is that you're qualified to the BS7671 edition of the time.

Thanks Rockingit, I've been helping an AV client work through compliance. I 'think' i've helped them understand what they need to be doing, but I fear they may have just grabbed hold of this bits they wanted to hear and disregarded the rest. Ah well, horses to water and all that.

As far as I know there is no corse for BS7909 it's just a set of regulations

It's more to do with testing and certificating temporary installations

To be able to carry out the testing you have to be competent to do so. This means that you should have 2391 or 2394/2395 to prove compatance

The certificates are slightly differnt to a installation certificate but it's the same idea

I work in the entertainment industry and carry out testing and certification for BS 7909.
