Bulbs buzzing in touch lamps

I know nothing about electrics, so I thought I'd ask you fine lads and ladies.

We bought these lamps:

They support up to 40W bulbs and, as they're touch (three levels of brightness), we bought some dimmable bulbs. These are the ones we bought:

e-Luminate, E14, Candle, LED (6W, eqv 40W), dimmable, 2700K, voltage 220-240V 50/60 Hz. Code 45456.

However, each of the three lamp brightness settings cause the bulbs to have an annoying buzz. Each level has a different volume of buzz but it's annoying nonetheless.

Any ideas what we're doing wrong?

Have you put a non dimmable LED in a dimmable lamp? Is the buzzing louder at lower brightness?

Don't use LED lamps. The dimming control isn't designed to be used with them.
Try it with the 40w lamps they recommend

That can and does happen frequently with LED bulbs and dimmers.

Usually with the more budget friendly types.

As pointed out above just buy the halogens they are designed for as finding LED's that work would be time consuming, expensive and possibly fruitless.

It does recommend on the site the use of LED lamps but 3.5w not 6w

Someone else on that site is complaining about buzzing too.

The lamps were probably designed for incandesant lamps NOT led.
I bet if you put in incandesants all buzzing will stop.
Not compatible.
The best advice is to try other brands, you may find one that does not buzz so much or at all.

As mentioned above, the website I bought the lamps from suggests "E14 28W Mini globe".

I searched eBay UK for 'E14 mini globe 28W' and it only came up with one result under £5:

Before I go ahead and order two of those (£2.99 total), is it a problem that it states non-dimmable (or will the lamps take care of that)?

In that case, if I search for 'E14 mini dimmable -non -LED' (UK, Buy It Now), I hardly get any results

The SKU that Habitat recommends for the lamps no longer exists on their own website but I did find:

£6 total (though out of stock, currently) but £5 delivery. A bit steep.

I agree. Halogen should mean dimmable, right?
