C&G 2330 L2 - How much is practical, how much is examined?

I was on here a while ago asking about the 17 day wonder courses, still not been made redundant, but missed the boat for starting a course in September.

I've been wondering how much of the course is passed practicaly, and how much is done through exams.
If I were to buy a book,

Could I teach myself and take the exams, or do I need a certain amount of classroom experience.

Now, I'm not for a moment suggesting I could buy to books, spend a few days in exams and be electrician, but is it a reasonable way to get a earthing grouding in the area?

My experience on 2330 may be a few years out of date now but ... I did L3 2330 over 3 years at 1 day a week. Half of each day was practical stuff in the workshop and half classroom for the first 2 years.

I had 3 practical exams to get to L2 (1 more for L3) and I can't remember how many computer-based theory exams (C&G website will have the details).

The book will definitely help - most of my classroom notes seemed to come from it. I strongly suggest you do a 2382 separately if you can.

You can't do 2330 home study because you are assessed throught the year on practical tests which count towards the whole overall certificate

There is 6 units in the L2 4 theory and 2 practical
