Hi guys, I have just had a word with the boss as due to most our work been in the countryside I am spending more and more time, looking for a socket to plug the tranny in to power the sds.

He has given me £250 to buy a cordless SDS. I have had a look online and have seen a Makita 24v for £200, a Dewalt 24v for £270 or a Bosch 24v for £300.

Does anyone have one of these? Or can you give me some advice to quality etc. They all seem to have the same ammount of power etc.

Thanks

i would say the makita 24v ive used them before, nice to use but because they have a low amp hour the batts dont last as long as some of the more expensive models, hope this helps.

Cheers Dave,

Just ordered the Makita one. £199 with 2 x 2a NIMH batteries!!!

Thanks again

MRES, just had a look at the Hilti!!!! See what you mean about budget.....

I think the one that dewalt does also can be used as a LIGHT chipping hammer,ie has rotary stop.
I'd personally recommend the panasonic, but it might be nearer the 300 mark now.Its very well balanced, and comes with 2 batteries at 3ah.I think makita also do one with 3.3ah.It really worth paying more for the extra amp hour batteries -you won't regret.
