Hi Fellow Sparks.

My first post on here:)

Just completed my assesment today with Elecsa after transferring across from Napit. All was fine, sailed through the testing etc etc, the only thing I need to do in the next month is show that I am about to update to 17th edition.
No problems there, that is untill got home and found the price of these courses, what a rip off.
I am quite happy just taking the test and doing the homework under my own steam.

Any advice anyone?

the full course is only £245 including the exam. local college rates.

I did mine with these http://www.***********.co.uk/ £130:00 all in. You just need to do the revision yourself at home then go for the exam.

Makes me laugh when it's called a course. This is how you use an index, and this is where you find chapter/section titles. Guess what? The information you need is in the relevant section!

Oh, I forgot that the links arent allowed. So you need to visit a web site called *********** with some w's infront and a dot at the end followed by co, then another dot followed by uk.

If you know the regs why bother with a course, I didnt! I phoned Lockwells in Tewkesbury and asked if it was possible to sit C&G exam without taking the course and they said I could at my own risk (of failure!!) all I had to pay was the £70 exam fee. Simples

I must be one of the few people who actually enjoyed doing the 17th edition course. A chance to pick the tutor's brains over a few things and "talk shop" with several other sparkies.
